Yummy Math

Yummy Math - We provide teachers and students with mathematics relevant to our world today …We’ve created Yummy Math to provide teachers with an easy way to bring real-life into their math classrooms. It is our belief that when math is explored in contexts that are familiar and of interest to students, students will be more engaged to do math, reason, think critically, question and communicate.  Our activities are written to correspond with the NCTM Process Standards and the CCSS Standards for Mathematical Practice.  We are in the process of adding CCSS correlation to each of our activities.  We’ve kept the site updated with multiple activities per week since March 2010 at no charge to teachers. If you have used our material, please consider making a donation to help us continue bringing meaningful mathematics to you and your students. Thank you.

Get the Math

This is the preview website for Get the Math, a multimedia project about algebra in the real world. See how professionals working in fashion, videogame design, and music production use algebraic thinking. Then take on interactive challenges related to those careers.

Real World Math

Real World Math.org - This website is designed for educators who wish to extend the concepts of the math curriculum beyond the pages of the text. Google Earth is the dynamic tool that will be used to accomplish this. Google Earth provides startling clear satellite views of the globe in an interactive 3D environment. Beyond the visual, users can add placemarks, annotations, photos, and models, as well as measure distances and draw paths.
